Santa Fe Indian School provides two scholarships:
The Board of Trustees Scholarship is for 2024 SFIS Graduates pursuing a post-secondary course of study at either an accredited college or university or an established vocational institution; and
The Francis L. Abeyta Memorial Alumni Scholarship is for alumni pursuing a post-secondary course of study at either an accredited college or university or an established vocational institution.
The deadline for applications is July 1st. Only complete applications will be considered, and applicants must reapply each year by submitting the Applicant Data Sheet and an updated transcript by the deadline.

The letters should include examples of the student's character, work ethic, and drive that make them the perfect candidate for the scholarship.
Distribution of Funds
Students who are awarded a scholarship will receive $2000.00 for the school year. Scholarship funds will be distributed in two (2) installments: $1000.00 per semester to the student. Recipients will receive the first installment at the beginning of the Fall Semester and the second installment at the start of the Spring Semester. Recipients need to be in good standing with a 3.0 GPA and enrolled as full time student to receive the second disbursement.
Recipients must submit a copy of their transcripts to the Family Engagement Coordinator upon completing each semester/term: Fall semester transcripts must be submitted no later than February 28th and Spring semester transcripts must be submitted no later than June 30th.
Change in Status
Scholarship recipients must notify SFIS of any changes to their academic status. Failure to do so may result in a delay or denial of the scholarship.
Academic changes include change in full-time status, number of credits, and/or change/transfer of schools.

If a recipient’s status changes from full-time to part-time, they are no longer eligible to receive funding for next semester.
PROBATIONARY CLAUSE: If the recipient falls below the minimum cumulative GPA requirement of 3.0, the recipient will be placed on probation and receive half of the installment for the spring semester. The recipient must raise their cumulative GPA to reapply and be eligible for the next scholarship application cycle.
Information and Final Checklist
Applicants will be notified via email whether they were awarded or denied a scholarship.
Award letters and checks will be sent directly to the Scholarship Awardee. Funds awarded are used for expenses associated with educational costs, such as tuition, books, fees, transportation costs, supplies, equipment, etc.
